SPFA Member:
Just a reminder that the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Faculty Association (SPFA) virtual AGM is scheduled for November 4, 2021 @ 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm.
Elections and E-Voting:
The 2021 SPFA Executive elections will use electronic voting only. Members can vote through any device which will allow them access to their SaskPolytech email account.
Candidate nomination forms, including statements, can be viewed on the protected side of the SPFA website – – http://spfa.ca/ under the AGM >> Nov 4, 2021 >> 2021 Candidate Nomination Forms and Position Descriptions. Members will have to log in to view the documents.
Secretary Treasurer, SPFA – Greg Burton (will be acclaimed at the AGM)
VP Prince Albert – Connie Wells (will be acclaimed at the AGM)
VP Regina – Vacant – will be filled as per Article V, Section 3 (f) which reads, “If any position on the executive council shall become vacant, the Executive Council shall seek a recommendation from the campus reps before appointing a member to replace the vacancy until the next Annual General Meeting.”

Candidates who are not acclaimed will be given an opportunity to campaign from October 6 – October 27, 2021.
An email will be sent to the Academic Members in Saskatoon with candidate names and statements on October 22, 2021.
On October 28th, an e-Ballot email will be sent to the Academic Members in Saskatoon. Electronic Voting for the position of VP – Saskatoon will remain open until 10:00 pm November 3, 2021.
Members who did not receive an electronic ballot should, after checking your junk folder, contact Aimee.Gordon@spfa.ca.
Following the close of the election, all electronic ballots will be tallied to determine the outcome for the position up for election and results will be shared with members on November 4th at the end of the AGM when the new Executive Council is announced.
Other Important Dates:
As per Article VII, Section 4 (Resolutions) – Resolutions to be considered at the AGM will be received by the SPFA until Oct 21, 2021 (2 weeks prior to the AGM). Note that late resolutions will still be accepted at the AGM, subject to Article VII, Section 5.
As per Article X, Section 3a amendments to the constitution must be received by the SPFA, 4 weeks prior to the AGM (October 7, 2021). As per Article X, Section 3(b) – effective October 21, 2021 (2 weeks before the AGM), proposed amendments to the constitution for consideration at the AGM will be circulated to the membership from the SPFA.

Note – to mitigate the congestion during the AGM a review of the 2020/2021 Variance Analysis with Notes and the 2022/23 Statement of Operations Budget with Notes will be presented at a virtual All-Campus meeting on October 21, 2021. More details will be provided in the coming weeks on the exact time. The motion accepting the budget is still scheduled for the AGM.
