Hi SPFA Members,

Just a reminder that the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Faculty Association (SPFA) virtual AGM is scheduled for November 27, 2025 @ 1 to 3 pm.

Elections and E-Voting:

· The 2025 SPFA Executive Council elections will use electronic voting only. Members can vote through any device which allows them access to their SaskPolytech email account.
· The list of candidates is posted on the SPFA website under the “News” tab. Candidate nomination forms, including statements, can be viewed on the protected side of the SPFA website – – http://spfa.ca/ under AGM >> November 27, 2025 AGM Package. Members must log in to view the documents.

• Secretary Treasurer (2 yr term) –
• VP Regina (2 yr term) – (will be acclaimed at the AGM)
• VP Prince Albert (2 yr term) –
• VP Saskatoon (1 yr term) –

· Candidates who are not acclaimed will be given an opportunity to campaign from October 29 to midnight on November 20, 2025. Candidate forums will be held for the VP Prince Albert, VP Saskatoon, & Secretary-Treasurer positions. Dates and times will be provided once scheduled.
· On or before November 21st, an e-Ballot email will be sent to Academic Members in all campuses to vote for the Secretary-Treasurer. Regina, Prince Albert and Saskatoon members will also receive a ballot for the Vice President position for their campus. Electronic Voting for these positions will remain open until 4:00 pm November 25, 2025.
· Members who did not receive an electronic ballot should, after checking your junk folder, contact info@spfa.ca.
· Following the close of the election, all electronic ballots will be tallied to determine the outcome for the positions up for election and results will be shared with members on November 27th at the end of the AGM when the new Executive Council is announced.

Other Important Dates:
· As per Article VII, Section 4 (Resolutions) – Resolutions to be considered at the AGM will be received by the SPFA until November 13, 2025 (2 weeks prior to the AGM). Note that late resolutions will still be accepted at the AGM, subject to Article VII, Section 5. The Constitution defines Resolutions as “a formal statement of opinion, or a statement to direct an action, adopted by the Members. This does not include changes to the Constitution and Bylaws, which is a Constitutional Amendment.”
· As per Article X, Section 2(b) – effective November 13, 2025 (2 weeks before the AGM), proposed amendments to the constitution for discussion at the AGM will be circulated to the membership.
· On November 13, 2025, the AGM Package will be available online under the protected side of the SPFA website under the heading November 27, 2025 AGM Package.

Dear Members,

The nomination period for the SPFA November election has closed, and we did not receive any nominations for the Regina campus, Saskatoon campus, or the Secretary/Treasurer position. We did, however, receive two nominations from the Prince Albert campus -thank you to those members for stepping forward.

To ensure fair representation across all campuses and to fill all positions, the nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, November 7th at 12:00 p.m, following a legal opinion.

This short extension is necessary so that the election process can proceed on schedule and campaigning can begin immediately afterward.

If you are interested in serving your colleagues and strengthening our collective voice, please consider putting your name forward. If you have any questions, please reach out to me personally.

Hi SPFA members, 

This is to advise that the SPFA 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, between 1 and 3 pm and will occur virtually through Zoom.  

The following timeline will guide the preparations for the AGM: 

• Oct 16, 2025 – Notification of AGM (Article VII, Section 1). 

• Oct 14, 2025 – Open Nominations – Secretary-Treasurer, VP Prince Albert, and VP Regina – current terms end this year (Article V, Section 3).  The VP Saskatoon will also be up for election (the normal rotation for the VP Saskatoon occurs in even numbered years, so this term is for one year). 

• Oct 16, 2025 – Constitutional Amendments received (Article X, Section 2) 

• Oct 28, 2025 – Nominations Close (Article V, Section 5) 

• Oct. 29 – Nov. 20, 2025 – Candidate Campaigning  

• Nov 7, 2025 – Nominations and Statements Circulated (Article V, Section 5) 

• Nov 13, 2025 – Constitutional Amendments circulated (Article X, Section 2), Resolutions received (Article VII, Section 4) 

• Nov 21-25, 2025 – Election of officers, e-Ballots sent to members prior to vote 

• Nov 27, 2025 – AGM

The following four Executive Council positions will be up for election at the November 27, 2025, virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the SPFA:
