The SPFA continues to be in contact with Sask Polytech Senior Management as they navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and work to protect the health and safety of our faculty and the staff across the province. Please check Sask Polytech's website (mysaskpolytech) and your emails on an ongoing basis for up to date information. If you have any questions of Sask Polytech relating to COVID-19 please email them to campussafety& This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

As you are aware, the following email was sent to Sask Polytech Faculty from the office of President Rosia this afternoon:

Good afternoon Faculty and Staff:

In partnership with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Advanced Education, Saskatchewan Polytechnic is cancelling all classes and programming for the remainder of this week.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic programs will be offered online or through alternative delivery options where possible to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, effective March 23.

Updated class schedule:

  • March 17-20: in-person classes are suspended.
  • March 20: more information will be provided regarding online or alternative delivery where possible.
  • March 23: online courses or alternative delivery programming for students will begin, where possible.

Updated information for students will be provided by email from each program.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic campuses are not closing.  Limited services may be available at each campus.  The fitness centres will remain closed until further notice.

All non-essential gatherings and events will continue to be cancelled until further notice.  Events and activities not directly connected to academic programs are postponed.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic supports work from home/telecommute arrangements where work can be performed from home (or at an alternate location) where possible.  The current priority is to support the transition for teaching remotely, and therefore, ITS assistance may be limited due to the demand during this transition.  Please work with your manager to discuss options.

Travel restrictions remain in place.  Sask Polytech sponsored travel to all areas outside of Saskatchewan is subject to Dean or AVP approval following the completion of a Travel Risk Assessment Form.  Limit in-province travel unless directly required for program operation.  Limit travel between buildings and have all face-to-face group meetings converted to Zoom whenever possible.  More information for employees is available on mysaskpolytech, including information on self-isolation and self-monitoring, absence reporting, and frequently asked questions for employees, supervisors and managers.

We know COVID-19 is causing unusual and challenging times.  Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and the care you’ve demonstrated for yourselves and others in our community.  We all can help to prevent the spread of COVID-19 if we each do our part and work together.  The health, safety and security of our students and employees is of the utmost importance.  Students, faculty or staff with questions should refer to details on our website or contact campussafety& This email address is being protected from spambots.
