As announced at the November 16^th AGM (conclusion of the November 4^th AGM), the 2021-22 Executive Council are as follows:

President                                         Bill Grosskleg

Secretary-Treasurer                        Greg Burton is acclaimed

Vice President, Moose Jaw             John Bloomesteyn is the Acting VP in Jeff Galbraith’s absence.

Vice President, Prince Albert          Connie Wells is acclaimed

Vice President, Regina                   Erin Knuttila’s term ended Nov 4; however, no nominations were received.                                                                                   The position will be filled in alignment with the constitution.

Vice President, Saskatoon             Barkley Twidale This is a one-year term in keeping with the rotation of VP positions

Hi SPFA Member:

Just a reminder that the SPFA virtual AGM is scheduled for November 4, 2021.  Members will need to use their Saskpolytech account in order to access the AGM Zoom link:

• Time:  Noon – 1:30
• Zoom Link  - An email invitation will be sent 24 hours prior to the start of the AGM.

Attached is a copy of the Robert’s Rules of Order – Summary Version, which will guide the management of the AGM.  Martin Gaal from the University of Saskatchewan has graciously agreed to act as parliamentarian.

There are several documents that can be viewed on the protected side of the SPFA website under the AGM menu:

Just a reminder that there are two pre-Budget Virtual All Campus meetings scheduled for 12 noon and 3:00 pm on October 21.  The agenda and zoom links are provided in the attached Pre AGM Budget Meeting Agenda and Zoom Links document. (please refer to the email for agenda and links).

The 2021 Constitutional Resolutions to be considered at the AGM will be posted on Thursday, October 21 to the protected side of the website under the AGM menu:

2021 Annual General Meeting Update

SPFA Member:

Just a reminder that the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Faculty Association (SPFA) virtual AGM is scheduled for November 4, 2021 @ 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm.

Elections and E-Voting:

• The 2021 SPFA Executive elections will use electronic voting only. Members can vote through any device which will allow them access to their SaskPolytech email account.
• Candidate nomination forms, including statements, can be viewed on the protected side of the SPFA website - - http://spfa.ca/ under the AGM >> Nov 4, 2021 >> 2021 Candidate Nomination Forms and Position Descriptions.  Members will have to log in to view the documents.
• Secretary Treasurer, SPFA – Greg Burton (will be acclaimed at the AGM)
• VP Prince Albert – Connie Wells (will be acclaimed at the AGM)
• VP Regina – Vacant - will be filled as per Article V, Section 3 (f) which reads, "If any position on the executive council shall become vacant, the Executive Council shall seek a recommendation from the campus reps before appointing a member to replace the vacancy until the next Annual General Meeting."
• VP Saskatoon – Barkley Twidale and Pat Tymchatyn
• Candidates who are not acclaimed will be given an opportunity to campaign from October 6 – October 27, 2021.
• An email will be sent to the Academic Members in Saskatoon with candidate names and statements on October 22, 2021. 
• On October 28th, an e-Ballot email will be sent to the Academic Members in Saskatoon.  Electronic Voting for the position of VP – Saskatoon will remain open until 10:00 pm November 3, 2021. 
• Members who did not receive an electronic ballot should, after checking your junk folder, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
• Following the close of the election, all electronic ballots will be tallied to determine the outcome for the position up for election and results will be shared with members on November 4^th at the end of the AGM when the new Executive Council is announced.

Other Important Dates:

• As per Article VII, Section 4 (Resolutions) – Resolutions to be considered at the AGM will be received by the SPFA until Oct 21, 2021 (2 weeks prior to the AGM). Note that late resolutions will still be accepted at the AGM, subject to Article VII, Section 5. 
• As per Article X, Section 3a amendments to the constitution must be received by the SPFA, 4 weeks prior to the AGM (October 7, 2021). As per Article X, Section 3(b) – effective October 21, 2021 (2 weeks before the AGM), proposed amendments to the constitution for consideration at the AGM will be circulated to the membership from the SPFA.

Note – to mitigate the congestion during the AGM a review of the 2020/2021 Variance Analysis with Notes and the 2022/23 Statement of Operations Budget with Notes will be presented at a virtual All-Campus meeting on October 21, 2021.  More details will be provided in the coming weeks on the exact time.  The motion accepting the budget is still scheduled for the AGM.

Hi SPFA Members:

The following four Executive Council positions will be up for election at the November 4, 2021, virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the SPFA:

• Secretary Treasurer (2 year term)
• VP – Prince Albert (2 year term)
• VP – Regina (2 year term)
• VP – Saskatoon (1 year term)

To comply with the SPFA constitution, Article V, Section 3, nominations for the above four positions must be received by 4:00 pm, October 5, 2021, 30 days prior to the AGM. Please see the following links for Nomination details:
